Bloomfield is about 5 miles north of downtown Newark. The drive takes 10 to 15 minutes. NJ Transit bus routes connect the two towns. The courthouse is near Broad Street Station and Newark Penn Station.

Bloomfield has a very active municipal court. The Garden State Parkway runs through the township, and NJ State Police Troop E is located on this stretch. Bloomfield Court Record Fees
