Searching Camden County Family Court Records

Types of Camden County Family Cases

Under N.J.S.A. 2A:34-2, a spouse may file for divorce based on irreconcilable differences or several fault grounds. Camden County Family Court Fees

A new divorce filing in Camden County costs $300. The pro se surcharge is $25 for those without a lawyer. Motions cost $15 and post-judgment motions cost $30.

Copy fees follow the state schedule. Plain copies are $0.05 per letter-size page. Certified copies cost $15 per document. The court seal adds $10. A certified divorce judgment is $25 for the first copy, and each extra is $2. Pay by check or money order to "Treasurer-State of New Jersey." Cash works in person at the Camden County courthouse. Credit cards are accepted for online submissions. Low-income filers may request a fee waiver.

Public Access to Camden County Records

Family court records in Camden County are generally public under the Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1. You do not need to be a party to the case to request them. But some records are sealed or have limits. Domestic violence records are not public under N.J.S.A. 2C:25-33. Juvenile records are closed. Adoption files are sealed. Financial details in divorce cases may be blacked out.
